ScheduledLaw No. 7578, adopted 22 April 2026 and published in the Official Gazette on 1 May 2026 (No. 33240), amends Internet Law 5651: social network providers may not serve under-15s, must verify age, and must offer parental controls and separate services for 15-17 year olds, with extra duties for large platforms; game platforms must rate games by age. Under Article 27 those provisions take effect six months after publication -- 1 November 2026 -- while the rest took effect on publication. The government says it is building an age check through e-Devlet, the state services portal, which it says will confirm eligibility without passing identity data to platforms; that design still routes every user's age check through the state. The ICT Authority's implementing rules have not been published, and whether enforcement starts on day one is not established.
